BO - Oh how we were thankful for this blessed and gentle soul. He was truly an amazing neighbor for us and especially Dominic. Dominic would come home and want to go see Bo. He knew he would have some candy or pocket change waiting for him. And he really loved when he got the chance to drive the lawnmower. He was really dedicated to the yard work and his garden. He was a great example of how to serve others. We never asked him to do anything, but our yard was always cut and never had a leaf on it. Our Heavenly Father decided it was time for him to come home and he was gone. I am planning on starting a garden for Dominic to tend to in Bo's honor. We loved him so much and he is truly missed, but he is with our Heavenly Father and in very good hands.

Dominic and the Ducks

We went to feed the local ducks at the park and found little baby ducks. Dominic was really excited and just wanted to talk to them. I had to keep telling him not to run the ducks into the water. There is also a playground at the park. Dominic has so much fun climbing the ladder.

This little guy has a broken wing. He gets as close to you as he can for the bread.

Dominic and his Transformers

Dominic's 4th birthday was a great day. He was excited to have all of his Transfromer toys. He was really excited when his Buddy Bo gave him the big Bumblebee. We tried to throw in some candy and sidewalk chalk as gifts but he quickly said they were not toys and was not supposed to be presents. He just wants toys and more toys.

He is in Preschool and doing really good. He is learning all about fire safety and emergency numbers. I was in the grocery store and saw a fire extinguisher, he shouted "Fire Safety". And when you ask him for his phone number he will tell you "9-1-1". I am having a hard time telling him that is for the Police, Fire, and EMS.

We love him.

We are thankful for all our friends and family. The church brought us over a really nice fruit basket and Dominic wanted to make sure he got all the oranges. As you can see he grabbed as many as his little hands could carry.

Christmas morning. Dominic had a couple of big items. He really like the scooter. He really gets around the house now. He also likes working on his workbench. I can wait til he gets older and can really fix things around the house.

Courtney enjoyed her IPOD Dock station, Netbook, calendar and other items.

Michele enjoys her hot chocolate and zagnut bars. You would not believe how hard it is to find those candy bars. I had to order then online.

Dominic Christmas Special

Dominic had his Christmas Special Today at School. I thought he would do great with me in the audience, but I was wrong. He came out with his bells and present around his neck and they were being part of a parade. I was sitting in the second row and as soon as he walked by me, he ducked out of line and into my lap. They tried to get him to get up and sing, but as you can see in the picture it was not a success. Now that he is home, he is singing all the time. I guess he just did not like the crowd. Hoping it will change in the future. After the party he just told me that he just wanted to go home. So I had the little guy all day long.

We were waiting for mom outside of Kroger and playing peek a boo. And "Yes" we are still having issues with the binky. I really wish it would go away. But he is still tooo cute.

This little guy wanted to be spiderman for Halloween. He was not fond of the mask, but he really enjoyed the costume. He had a lot of fun trick or treating and got plenty of candy.

He had a fall festival at his school. He was able to play and do several activities. He had a great time.

He also enjoys that sweek icing on the cupcakes. It really makes him light up.

Happy Birthday Dominic!!

I had to buy cupcakes for his daycare since you cannot make any for the kids at school. I just added the dinosaurs on top. I am really glad that he wanted something simple this year for his party. He did not want to be too involved in his party at daycare because Michele was there. I really hope he can come out of that phase. I want to be able to see him enjoying his party and be able to take pictures. Once I got him to eat a cupcake he seemed to like it.

Cant help but love that smile. MMMM MMM good!!

Keeping the dinosaur theme at the house, I made a cake with dinosaurs. He helped with the sand (graham crackers) but eneded up covering up his name. We started to sing happy birthday, but he said to sing Dinosaur day, so we made some changes.

He really enjoyed his cake and cleaning the icing off the dinosaurs.

The big present was a new big boy bike. He was asking for a bike with pedals. I only wish Michele was on the other side to get the true expression on his face. He wanted to know where the bike came from. Once he got on, he kept saying "I can do this, I can do this". Yes he did all up and down the hall. When it stops raining we might be able to take it outside or to the park.

I think he had a great day. It was alittle crazy, but he was worth every minute of it. Love that little big boy.

Michele had a great opportunity to go to hte Wild Animal Safari with her kids from Summer Camp at her Daycare. She had a great time and I cant wait to take Dominic. Here are a couple of her pics. This is a great place you can ride your car through the safari or rent a van. Most of the animals are just walking around. They come right up to your car for you to feed them. Really exciting and I guess can be scary at times.

Turtle Rescue

This is the turtle that I rescued from under my tire. I put him in a box long enough for Dominic to see him. He was really excited. He kept wanting to shake the box to make him move. I told him we would set it free in our backyard. If we find him again we will make him a home in our yard. For Dominic if you ask him to name anything, for some reason everything is Bobby.

Our Easter Family Fun

We enjoyed the Easter morning. Courtney and Dominic woke up to a few gifts.

Courtney got a couple of posters, some chocolate and the second book to Vampire Diaries.

Dominic was very excited about his back pack and water bottle. He also got some chocolate. Then we went out back for a small easter egg hunt. We hid some eggs for Dominic to find. He had alot of fun. He went off running and got alot of eggs. I guess next year we will have to try with some competition. He would run by the same eggs a hundred times and only get one or two. He was very happy. Courtney did hunt with him, but she wanted to make sure he got more than she did.

Everytime he picked up one he would yell "I got one!!"

That was alot of yelling.

Nice Weather

Well we are still having our issues with the weather. One day you can wear flip flops, the next day you need your snow suit. We wanted to get Dominic a swing set so he could play outside. We had only a couple of issues while putting it together, but we were successful. He has enjoyed playing outside on the nice days on his swing set and digging in the dirt. Oh what a boy we have.

Chuck E Cheese

We decided to take Dominic to Chuck E Cheese early Saturday morning. He has been saying he wants to go everytime we drive by it. This one is alot closer than the one in Virginia. We had nice time. We wanted to make sure we got there early so there would not be alot of people. Dominic played his games and before all the tokens were up the people started to pile in. Once Dominic saw there was a lot of people he said I want to go home. I guess he is not one for crowds.

Tired of the Weather

As you can tell from the previous day, the weather was nice. Now look what we have to deal with today..We are just waiting for the schools to close. They seem to close for everything. This is just the beginning. They are expecting a couple of inches.

We finally had a nice day with the weather and everyone feeling better. Not much to do on a Monday evening so we just played in the back yard. Here is Dominic off and running after a ball.

He said "Hey look at me I got 2 balls" but he would not look at me.

New Pictures Coming

Sorry it has been a while since I have updated. We have all been sick.

Dominic had a trip to the ER, followed by a Dr appointment with a serious ear infection. He is doing better now. We bought him his own bed. He has been sleeping in it for most of the night. I think it will take some time, but he seems to love it. Yeah big boy!! His school said he is doing a great job at tracing and continues to win over everyone at Daycare.

Courtney had a trip to the ER, followed by a Dr appointment with a double pink eye infection. It has been hard trying to give her medicine and keeping her from infecting everyone. She is doing better and will be returning to school tomorrow.

All of the adults have had the stomach bug. Mine seems to have lasted for two weeks. I guess it is because I have been working 52 hours every week. Glad to know that my long weeks are over. I am back to working just weekends. I will get some well needed rest.

New Years

For the New Year, we celebrated at home. We just had some food to nibble on and Courtney invited a friend over. They had fun watching movies and playing with Dominic. It was a great, safe way to bring in the New Year. As you can see Michele went all out with the decorations. There were 2010 streamers hanging everywhere. I hope noone forgot what year it was.
Courtney and her friend had fun playing with crazy string. They were allowed to spray all over the living room. The only thing is they had to clean up every last drop. They did.

They did not realize how messy they really got, but they did clean it up. There is no sign of it.

Poor Dominic wanted to play too, but he would not turn around. So this is what he got.

Courtney's friend, Jeff, had fun juggling potatoes. Nanny is in the back trying to cook potato salad. I think she is missing a couple.

Dominic thought he could do it better. He tried really hard. All he really did was throw them up in the air for Jeff to catch.

Our three New Year Babies. They are waiting for the ball to drop. Dominic had to put his sneakers on, because he said the crazy string was too messy to walk on. But even when it was all cleaned up, he would not take them off. He however, did not make it to the new year. He was sound asleep. Maybe next year.

Ice Skating

We went Ice Skating with the young women in our ward. I think Courtney had fun. I, however, did not try it. I was still trying to calm down from the drive over. It was on many highways and plenty of traffic. So I decided to take a couple of pics. She is putting her skates on getting ready for fun on the ice.

She was holding on to the wall, but I did get a pic of her waving as she goes by.

All finished and taking a breather before we head out to dinner.

I think it was a great time to get out together with the girls from our church. We had a great time. I got to know a couple of sisters better. We we out for dinner at Arby's. We look forward to another event. Just as long as there is no traffic or highways involved.

Christmas 2009

Christmas Morning was alittle overwhelming for Dominic. He did not want to peek. He wanted everyone to just leave him alone. I am hoping next year he will be more excited about the whole process. The night before, we were trying to get him to go to sleep, all he would say is "no Santa, No presents, he would close the door". I tried to tell him that Santa would bring him some presents if he would go to sleep, but he keep saying No Santa.

Once he realized he had somthing new he really wanted to see what it was. He started to get excited slowly. He loves his CandyLand Game. He can match all the color and shapes on his own.

He loves his talking Wubzy. He loves this little guy. I think if we did not control the TV he would watch this show all day long. Good thing there are fun things to do outside.

Like riding his new Big Truck. He broke his old truck before Christmas. We thought this little one was cute, but he keeps saying it is too big. I think he is talking about it being wide. He cannot take quick turns in the house like he used too. He is getting used to it.

Courtney enjoys her new shirt. She said she loved the scarf that went with it better than the shirt itself. I guess we could have just given her a scarf. Small things make her happy.

Like this new camera. She is taking lots of pictures and enjoying taking videos of Dominic.

The smallest of all got the biggest smile. She was really excited to get a phone. She has a small phone that you pay as you go. She has to be good to keep getting minutes on it.

Michele wanted this book from the TV show Castle. It think it will be fun to read it.

Mom got some earrings that she really wanted. But when she took a shower, she forgot to take them out. One went down the drain. Talk about not holding on to something for 24 hours. Oh well, I guess she will have to wait til her birthday or next christmas. Not many pictures of me since I was the one taking the pictures. But I love all my presents this year. I got a pink New York Yankees watch, the Vampire Diaries series books, a chopper and some money. I enjoyed this Christmas will the family. With us moving down to Georgia, I was not able to visit my Aunt. I really miss her big spread she has. Her vegetables and cookies are the best. I guess we will have to start something down here. We are thankful for all we have, our family, friends, health, and the gospel. We are truly blessed.

Feeding the Ducks

We had some left over bread and decided to go feed the ducks. We were really excited to go see them and play on the playground. We were really bummed when we got to the park to find to find the pond drained.

We could see the ducks on the other side, but we were blocked all around by this orange fence. We were really bummed that we could not get any food to them. Well, while were were here, we decided to go play on the playground. We needed to find some fun in this trip. Oh No!! Another gate!!

We couldn't catch a break. We were not having any luck at feeding the ducks or playing at the park. Oh well the only thing to do here was get on the train. Dominic was really excited about the train, but once we tried to put him on it, he said it was too big. Mom got up there with him, but he was still a little overwhelmed by the big train.

We had our little fun and it was time to go. There was not much more we could do. We packed up in the car and headed out. On our way out we found some ducks on the side of the road. We stopped and got excited we finally found some ducks. We got out of the car and they were really happy to see us. Dominic had a great time feeding the ducks.

We ended the day with a smile. No matter how rough it began, we found a way to have some fun. Just found out that the reason the pond is drained and the park is closed is coyote sightings. I guess we are lucky we didn't run into anything while we were feeding the ducks.

Our Little Elf

With all the Christmas traditions we tried to visit Santa. Dominic was not going to get too close to him. He was able to talk to him, but he was not going to sit on his lap. We could not get a picture of him with Santa. However, Santa was making sure he had plenty of elves. He was handing out hats and coupon books for the mall. We happened to take one of his elves home. Do you think he would miss him.

Well with it being that time of year, we put up our tree. With help from Courtney and Dominc we were able to get it decorated. They put the ornaments on the tree. We are now ready for plenty of presents.

Ok so it has been a long time since I blogged. My computer was having issues when loading pics. I am going to try and catch up.

This is Dominic's favorite hiding spot. It is in the kitchen cabinet. We cannot keep too much down there, because it will either end up on the floor. It is funny, he runs while saying he has to run and hide.

We are very thankful for our neighbor who keeps our yard looking nice and clean. Sometimes we can get out before he has a chance to pick up all the leaves and have our fun with them. Here is Courtney and Dominic playing in the leaves. He just loved running and jumping in the pile of leaves. This does not happen often, since Bo (our neighbor) mows our lawn everyday.

Dominic loves school. He loves to play with his friends. Although there aren't many kids at his school, he has fun. Here is a picture of his school. We could not get him to get down so we could include him in the pictures. We will try again later. But it is a really nice school for him. They are learning about the God and creation. He is supposed to be bringing home is book he has been making on Monday. We love to see his pictures.

Daycare for Dominic

Well the time has come and the little man is going to daycare. He went today for just an hour to see how he liked it. He did great and everyone loves him. His big day will be on Friday with he has to spend the whole day at daycare. We were a little scared but the place is great. It is a nice friendly church daycare. They have bible stories, song and dance, playtime, and lesson. Today he learning about red, circle and the number 1. We are excited for the little guy. He might just have to go a couple days a week, but he will get to play with other kids. Although he is the only boy in his class (total of 4 kids). We love to watch him become such a big boy. Pictures will come later.

Scary Wake Up Call

Well just had to share with you our scary event this morning. Michele and I were sitting in the living room this morning enjoying some quiet time while watching TV. Dominic woke up like he always did and came around the corner to be with us. When he came around the corner I wondered what he was into to be such a mess. After looking a little closer he had a bloody nose and had blood all over his face and hands. Michele immediately freaked out and rushed him to the bathroom while telling me to fix him. I had to be the calm one and clean the little guy up. I am not sure he knew what was happening. This was a scary sight and got our hearts racing so early in the morning. Everything is fine now and once cleaned up he went back to his playful self.

For my birthday we went to the local Seafood restaurant. It was really nice to enjoy shrimp on my birthday. The waitress even put aside the embarrassing singing and just brought the cheesecake. Yum!!

Tour of our New Home

Let me take you through our home. It is nice and we just have a few more boxes left to unpack. The pictures are alittle out of order but you get the picture and you can see our new home in GA. We are excited about our move.

This is my room. The door goes outside. It has it's own entrance outside. This room is located off the kitchen. It was a garage that they turned into a room. It is nice and roomy for me.

Moving Day

Moving Day!! Our first really big move. Our stuff was delivered and that is when the fun began. Our neighbors helped in moving the big stuff in the house. As for the boxes it was up to us and we had a fun time doing so.

Our shock in the move was actually seeing Courtney helping out. She was really good about moving things in without much fuss.

The following is Dominic's way of helping out. We were using a dolley to move out boxes in the house. He thought he would use is own to help out. What a big helper he was.

Our Farewell Picnic

We want to thank Joshua for being our grill master for our farewell picnic. He is the best and funniest cook ever. We had a rough start as you can see by the nice crispy burgers. But perfection takes practice and he really did a great job.

Some burgers were alittle crispy than I would like.

Our Friends came over to join us in a great time. We will miss everyone. We never realized how big our family really was.

The kiddos stopped for a second to cheese for the camera. Dominic will have to find more friends to play with. I know he misses his nursery friends.

We had a great party for Dominic. He is two now. Where did the time go. He enjoyed playing with all his friends and being a fireman. The cake was supposed to be a firetruck, good thing he is only two and cannot tell you what is wrong with it. When the cake started to fall we had to do the party backwards. Dessert, pizza, then presents. Great times.

Trip to the Airport

Mom took a trip to Atlanta for a week. Dominic, Michele and I went to pick her up from the airport. Dominic is now pointing at all the planes he hears go by. We had lunch at the Applebee's there, because you can sit by the windows and watch all the planes take off and land. It was pretty exciting for him to watch. He was also very helpful with mom's luggage. He is learning to help at such a young age. Well he really likes to push things, but we can always hope there was a good thought in there.

We had a lot of fun playing in the park with our friends. Melanie is such a great mom and friend. She had a race with Sam. Although he looked a little tired in the beginning he managed to win in the end.

It was a great day to play in the park with our friends. The weather was great and we could not have asked for a better play date.

While we were in Atlanta we had a chance to go to the aquarium. WOW!! It was amazing. Dominic enjoyed some of the bigger tanks, but was really interested in the kids running around. I was impressed but it was alittle crowded to enjoy too much.

Days with the Ducks in Atlanta

Mom, Dominic and I took a vacation down to atlanta. We had a blast hanging out with Dad. We found a little park where you could feed ducks and play on the playground. Dominic was more interested in the ducks than taking a picture. He enjoyed them so much I had to go to the park a couple of times.
It was really funny to watch Dominic feed the ducks. He even had to taste bread before he gave it to the ducks. I guess he was making sure we were giving them good bread.

Dominic 1st Birthday

I know it has been awhile since I posted, but it is time to slowly catch up. Dominic has his first birthday and we all had a great time sharing it with him. There were alot of people to share it with. I would almost say too many, but you can never have too many friends around. We had a blast. Our little man is growing up fast.

Mom's Tomatoes

These are mom's tomatoes. She was very proud. These were given to us by our friend Melanie and with some love and water this is what we got. I am not a tomato person myself, but mom loves them. Maybe we will work on a bigger garden later. For now mom is proud and she has enjoyed eating them.

Dinner with Dominic

Here is Dominic at dinner. The picture is not too great, it was taken with the camera phone. This weekend we will be celebrating his 1st birthday.

He was having a little fun trying to get everyones attention. He did a great job. When the manager approached him, he got really quiet and looked him like he was the one being crazy.

Wedding

Today I was invited to a friends wedding. Since I was feeling in the mood to take pictures, I thought I would share them with you. It is not everyday that you will get me to actually pose for the camera.

Since the family was around I thought it would be great to get a family picture. Courtney was at Michele's house. It is too bad she was not there, becuase it was a great picture. Maybe we will get her next time.

Fireworks

Courtney, Dominic, Michele and I had a good time watching the fireworks in Colonial Heights tonight. We were glad we could all share in this experience with Dominic's 1st year. He was not sure about it, and kinda got bored half way through.

There were some ducks near a lake by Walmart. There were so many and they were definitely not hungry. So many people were feeding them. Courtney could not get far enough away and Dominic could not get in the fence to get them. They are so different.

In the end it was a great family night out. Mom is not one for going out with the crowds so she chose to stay home. We really had a nice time hanging out in the Walmart parking lot.

Elder Clark got transferred

We said our farewell to Elder Clark. He is a great guy and very funny. The moments he shared with us will be cherished always. He got transferred to Farmville. He will be missed. Mom gets close to all the missionaries and they are like sons to her. It is sad to watch them come and go, but each one has blessed our lives in so many ways.

Peterson's Final Goodbye

I had a very special visitor yesterday. It was my favorite missionary Elder Peterson. He was there to help guide me on the spiritual path I am currently on. I cannot thank him enough for making my experience most memorable.

After 3 years of investigating, the time came when I knew I needed a change in my life. I found that change when Peterson and Sheffield stepped on my door step. It was time for me to take the next step. I had a lot of people in my life that helped me along the way, but I believe that they brought the spirit into my home and I am ever grateful. Once I started taking the lessons there was no stopping my spiritual journey. I am glad to be a part of the church and very grateful for the friends and family I have collected along the way. The friendships are forever cherished.

I feel like my life is on the right path now and I have Peterson and Sheffield to thank. Peterson is leaving to head back home today. He stopped by to say his final goodbye and he will be missed but never forgotten. We plan to keep in touch.

Our Heavenly Father knows when we need him most and he know just who to send our way for help.

Indy Races

Michele and I had fun out at the Indy races on June 28th. We were able to get pit/garage passes so we had to get there early. The only thing wrong with that is we forgot the sunscreen so we got burnt and Michele got sick from the heat. Oh well we had fun while we were there. We did get to see the pre-race, but had to leave before the actual race.

Mom's Club

Today we enjoyed going to the Mom's club at the Mall with our friends. Dominic had a couple bites of pancakes for breakfast. He enjoyed crawling around the play gym in the mall with all the bigger kids. It was really hard trying to keep up with him to make sure he did not get stomped on. He didn't seem to care, he just wanted to play.

Baby Hannah

Today we had the chance to babysit Baby Hannah. She is sooo cute. Her hair is something else. There is no way to get all that to lay down. We just love her.

Maymont Park

We went to Maymont Park on Thursday with our friends Melanie, Josh and Sam. What a great day to have a picnic. It was really fun to watch the boys go in and out of the bamboo and climb up all the rocks and hills. I can see what I have to look forward to with Dominic. I think he found the kids more interesting than the animals. It will not be long before he gets excited and running around after the boys.

After our meal Dominic enjoyed crawling in grass.

I was very surprised that he kept his hat on the entire time at the park.

Saturday Fun

We were having fun hanging around the house. Courtney loves to play with Dominic.

The little guy loves to play outside. We will be planning more trips outside for the Summer.
